HEAR ME ROAR.
Alright, this is a fun, but complicated subject. There are several BASE species that are available to you. You may also play a hybrid of two species... any two species. If you are a hybrid, you may go one of three ways.
001 | You are an even mix of your parent species. Your size and weight fall pretty much in the middle of their ranges.

002 | You are more like your father species. Your size and characteristic are mostly like his, though you will be slightly larger/smaller depending on your mother.
003 | You are more like your mother species. Your size and characteristic are mostly like his, though you will be slightly larger/smaller depending on your father.

To make this a little smoother, here's an example. A tiger (500 pounds, 4 feet in height, father) and a wolf (200 pounds, 3 feet in height, mother) have a litter. Broken down, here are the three options for the child, correlated with the option above.
001 | The cub is an even mix of the parents. He is around 350 pounds, about 3.5 ft in height, and shows an even mix of characteristics.

002 | The cub looks more like it's father. He is around 400 - 450 pounds, and about 3 feet, 9 inches in height. He shows more feline characteristics, but still shows some canine.
003 | The cub looks more like it's mother. He is 250 - 300 pounds, and is about 3 feet, 4 inches at the shoulder. He has more canine characteristics, but still shows some feline.

,p. You get to pick and choose what characteristics you show, so don't worry about that. I'm now going to list off all of the BASE species available, don't forget to check the second post for mutations, as they are in integral part of the game!

WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR FACE?
Mutations are an integral part of Tundra! While you are not required to have mutations, it heavily encouraged.

Anyway, you are given 5 "mutation points" when you make your account. These metaphorical points, are used to get mutations right off the bat for your character. Below is the scale of what mutations cost, and you do not need to use all of your points, but once your character is accepted, they become useless and go away.

Keep in mind that these mutations are separate from your natural state as a hybrid. So if you're half feline with retractable claws, you don't need to "buy" that from this scale when you create the character.

TIER 1 - 1 Point
Horns, Antlers, Barbs/Spikes, Glow, Short Tail, No Tail, Mane, Forelock, Webbed Toes, Floppy Ears, Fins, Fluffy Fur (Now with EXTRA poof!)

TIER 2 - 2 Points
Nature Growth, Retractable Claws, Multiple Tails, Bi-Colored Eyes, Scales, Feathers, Raptor Claw, Saber teeth, Sleek coat

TIER 3 - 3 Points
Wings, Albino, Melanism, Poison, Long Tail

The Messengers are the gods way of keeping in contact with the physical realm. Messengers in the world are currently 2 years old and are just now finding their magic due to the god's return. Messengers do not get the 5 pts for mutations when created; any extra mutations must be bought via the store.

Each member is allowed to create 1 messenger for no fee, though it is not allowed to be their first character. Should you wish to have another messenger, it must be bought through the store or through a contest prize. Please choose your species carefully as there is no changing it after the fact.

Please note that eye colors that are in quatations are special eye colors and are not otherwise included under an "All" banner. Further information on that subject may be found in the FAQ (link).

Messengers may serve any god of their choosing, and the orb of magic that they choose must correlate with that god(ess). In addition, they recieve a 50% discount on all magic spells for schools they follow. Additional Orbs are NOT half price.

Their eyes tend to glow, despite the lack of moving lifeblood. The only ways to kill one? Snapping the neck or impaling the heart.

Many of the Valatar find that they can communicate with their dead twin through mental and verbal communication, and ocassionally the twin manafests into an etheral form only visable to the Valatar. In some cases, the dead twin becomes malevolent and drives the Valatar insane. Whether it's because insects tend to wander in more frequently or the spiders themselves feed off of the Voodoo's magic has yet to be discovered.
